Please join us for our fourth annual advance care planning learning collaborative! This year’s program “The ABCs of ACP: Why the Words We Use Matter” will feature Dr. Charlotte Yeh, emergency physician and health care innovator, who has extensively studied the communication needs of individuals, particularly older adults. She’ll bring breaking research about how the language we use matters, along with guidance about how we can best communicate with a diverse audience. The lessons learned are applicable for all aspects of clinical and community education about health and wellness.
We’ll also explore:
– feedback from the community about how we can best meet their decision-making needs;
– best practices in navigating literacy and health literacy factors that influence engagement in medical decision-making; and
– opportunities for partnering with communities of faith to explore the spiritual side of health care.
While this is a free event, advance registration is required. We hope to see you there!
